Happy Harry Birthday - Commentary
In the
summer of 2006 we noticed that J K Rowling's
birthday was approaching. What would you do to
celebrate the birthday of someone so special, so
inspiring, someone who...well someone who rocks as
much she does? She must receive millions of cards
and letters so we decided to create something a
bit different - her very own birthday song written
especially for her - the result is Happy Harry
Birthday.
Birthday celebrations should be fun, loud, upbeat
and enjoyable so that's the way we made the song.
You can probably hear the influence of the Beach
Boys as we used some ideas from their style of
music - namely lots of voices, lots of harmonies
and lots of fun!
There's an extra element to this song as well -
replace the word 'Jo' with a name of your choice
(John? Elizabeth? Dobby?) and it becomes a
personalized birthday song! Just like magic! We
plan to sell personalized versions of the song
(along with others) on CD – we’ll let you know
when we’re ready to take name requests!
